Practical and Impactful Learning

Practical learning is the best way of learning because it synchronizes thought and action, and produces the best result as an output of efforts.

Our core instructional technical will be Project-Based Learning (PBL): This focuses on building a tangible project (e.g., coding an app, creating a short documentary, etc) rather than just consuming lectures. Our approach will emphasize hands-on experimentation, real-world applications, and active engagement, making knowledge more memorable, and fun!

Included in all subject selections will be mandatory basic booking keeping and entrepreneurship curricula to enhance financial literacy and promote a journey towards self-employment.

Our curricula intentionally transform learning from textual and theoretical to practical and impactful. Practical and impactful learning bridges the gap between theory and real-world application and replaces passive memorization with active problem-solving, skill-building, and continuous reflection. This hands-on approach ensures that the knowledge our students gain is immediately useful to them.

Our Community

Kenya  has one of the world's youngest populations, with approximately 75% of its citizens aged below 35 years. The country’s goal of becoming a "middle-income country" depends on a workforce capable of navigating a digital economy. Literacy is the foundation for the technical and vocational training centres (VTCs) that drive industrialization.

Improving literacy levels, especially in regions like Kilifi county where rates lag at 42%, well behind the national average of 78.7%, is a catalyst for Kenya’s broader developmental goals. It moves the needle from basic survival to economic participation and social stability.

Additionally, in Kilifi approximately 22% of girls ages 15-19 get pregnant, in comparison to a national average of 15%. Staying in school acts as a protective barrier against retrogressive cultural practices.

Up to 95% of children with disabilities in some parts of Kilifi are estimated to be out of school. This is driven by the high cost of specialized care, the long distances required to reach special needs units, and the social stigma that results in children being hidden away.

Poverty in Kilifi County is the main primary driver of school dropouts, and literacy is the most direct path to formal employment. Higher literacy correlates with a 10% increase in individual earnings for every additional year of schooling.
